American Chippendale Tea Caddy
An incredibly, American, Chippendale tea caddy. How does one know it is American? It has poplar secondary wood used throughout!
We cannot express how rare this is! The exterior shows some veneer repairs but overall it is in great condition. The inlay is delightful. The feet and base trim are replaced. It is a bit larger than usual standing at 8.5″ tall, 12 7/8″ wide, and 7 7/8″ deep. The interior compartment lids appear to be original and the interior, poplar, fittings are original. All of the hardware is as well. American. Circa 1775.
