Pair of Georgian Knife Boxes

A matched pair of mahogany veneered knife boxes made during the George III period.  Original finish.  Extensive barber pole inlay on the exterior and interior.  A star is inset on the top and the inside of the knife boxes.  The ogee bracket feet were replaced around 100 years ago.  The silver escutcheon is original and in good order.  Original interiors.  English.  Circa 1800.

  • Back of left one.  This one has some age cracking and shrinkage.

  • Right one back.
