Cherry 16 Pane Corner Cupboard
This nice corner cupboard is made out of a dark cherry. The 16 glass panes are old glass with delightful distortion. Overall, it stands 7′ 2″ tall and has excellent proportions. The sides cut back from the front at a 90 degree angle. This unusual characteristic is most commonly found in Virginia and Pennsylvania cupboards. As a result, this piece looks smaller than it is. It needs a corner of 34 1/2″ at the cornice. The waist only needs 31 1/4″. The interior of the top portion has been painted a green shade from the 19th century. Original feet, trim, and cornice. Poplar secondary. Probably made in western Virginia up into Pennsylvania. Circa 1820.
