Demilune Card Table

A nice, demilune card table made out of mahogany. Made at the turn of the 19th century, this is a classic example. The straight, tapered legs are elegantly decorated with fine string inlay.Meanwhile, the apron features a nice, figured mahogany veneer. The top is made out of solid mahogany. However, it is the top that points to this table’s origins. The bottom lip of the top is molded in such a way that leaves little doubt this table was made in Massachusetts. It has been refinished by us and there are several repairs to the top, one inside and one out (see pictures below). The front right leg was damaged at some point, a long time ago, and expertly repaired. The repair can be seen when the table is upside down. It is strong and sturdy now. This pretty piece shows and works well. American. Circa 1800.
