English Oak, Mahogany Case Clock

This tall case clock is made out of an unusual blend of English oak and mahogany. The waist has reeded quarter columns and the ogee feet are original. The dial is signed “R.H. Sager, Blackburn”.

English Oak is used in the majority of the case construction but mahogany is used as an accent and in all of the columns, bonnet door, and fretwork. Some of the fretwork on the clock was missing when I found it and has been carefully replaced. The conch shell decoration on the dial is most unusual. The 8 day works have been fully restored and have a delicate ring. It is 7′ 3″ tall, 23″ wide, and 10″ deep. Scottish. Circa 1820.
