Federal Card Table

A lovely, mahogany card table with saber legs. The top is solid mahogany and so is the apron. The solid pedestal is veneered in flame mahogany. Its shape helps indicate that the table was made in the middle to late 1820’s. The top swivels and opens to give a surface area of 35″ by 34.5″. Overall, it is 35″ wide, 17 1/4″ deep, and 28 1/2″ tall when the top is closed. There are some repairs to the top and they are shown in the pictures. One is on the far right side and the back edge of the top is replaced too. Generally, this means that a piece of art or mirror fell off the wall and damaged the back edge. If it wasn’t pointed out, one would not notice it. The casters on the feet are original. All in all, this is a lovely table. American. Circa 1825.

Price: $1695

Note:  The most accurate pictures of color in real life are the pictures of the top.
