This is a lovely Imari “double fish” plater, or plate. Fish platers of any sort are very sought after. Double fish platers even more so.Shaped in the form of a fish, this plate is painted with a top half that is mirror on the bottom. Furthermore, it is not a flounder. While this piece is in excellent condition, it does show a bit of gold loss especially around the area just above the tail. It is 9 1/8″ long and 7 7/8″ across. It is a very pretty piece. Imari. Japanese. Circa 1885.
