Mahogany Sideboard Table

Mahogany Sideboard Table

A mahogany sideboard table with serpentine front. This rare table is very impressive. Standing 33″ tall, the table is a great height for serving.

The serpentine front with string inlay really makes the table stand out. The top front legs have an elegant oval insert that, visually, really pops off the mahogany. The top is two boards with the left side showing a stable separation that has been repaired by us. It is 28 7/8″ deep and 6′ 1/2″ long. Originally, the table did not have a drawer. However, someone decided a drawer would be a great addition. In my opinion, it was. The drawer front is made out of the original apron and was probably constructed in the 2nd quarter of the 19th century, around the 1840’s. Overall, the table has been refinished and is ready to go. The color and feel of the mahogany is lovely. English. Circa 1800.
