Walnut Victorian Bookcase

A solid walnut, Victorian bookcase, or china cabinet, with adjustable shelves. This handsome bookcase was made in the later part of the 19th century. It has nice, carved decorations on it. Some are on top of burl walnut panels. It does come completely apart for easy moving and setup. All of the shelves appear to be original and have groves cut in them to support plates. This means it can be used at a china cabinet as well. The shelves can be moved up and down or removed completely which provides great flexibility. The sides are double paneled. It stands 100 1/2″ tall when the carved top is on. It is removable which lowers the height to 86″. The cornice is the widest point at 49 1/8″. It is 20 1/2″ deep at the base and 13 1/2″ deep in at the middle point of the bookcase. Poplar secondary woods. American. Circa 1885.
