An incredible pair of Chinese export bough pots. Decorated in the Rose Mandarin style, this pair is very early. The top has five holes for the stem of the flower to pass through. This would have allowed the blooms to be featured prominently on a sideboard, table or mantel. The bases feature panels of art commonly portrayed in the 18th century porcelain with strong blue borders. Due to their nice size, the details painted on them are more detailed than usual. Each pot features “matching” art. The Chinese never minded minor variations from one piece to the next. As a whole, they are undoubtedly a pair. Look closely at the ribbon handles on the main body….just outstanding craftsmanship. One bough pot, or vase, is in great condition while the second does have some repairs on the top and one spot on the lip of the base. The repairs have some age to them and are easily overlooked. They could be redone and made “invisible” at an additional charge. Each pot, or vase, stand 8 ¼” tall, 6 ¼” deep, and 6 ¾” wide at the handles. Please note that the color on these is great and the white really is white. Some of the pictures below the white is more “off white”(my flash caused this). They are white and the vases match beautifully. Overall, these pieces are fantastic. Chinese. Circa 1775-1800.
