A lovely, English Oak candle box. This lovely box can be hung or used laying down. The lid slides open to reveal where candles were stored.Today, these boxes can hold anything from cell phones, remotes, etc. It can still be hung and used decoratively as well. Overall, it is 15 1/2″ long or tall, 5″ wide, and 4 1/2″ deep. The main part of the box is 12 5/8″ long. Please note that the sliding door is original and fits well. However, it is a bit loose when opening and closing due to age. English. Circa 1775-1800.
