Federal China Cabinet
A gorgeous, solid mahogany china cabinet with mirrored back. Wow, was the first word that came to mind. This impressive piece is 85” tall, 70 ¾” wide, and 22” deep. In addition to the bottom shelf, it has 5 adjustable shelves with lines for plates on each. All 7 feet are hairy paw. But what really impresses are the columns and the original mirrored back. First, the columns are beautifully turned. The attention to detail and quality of the work is top level. Next, the mirror is all one piece! It is framed in mahogany with poplar backing. The back of the mirror and the bottom of the drawer are hand planed and hand beveled. The final element that sets this piece apart is the shape. The canted sides are so pleasing to the eye and helps the piece not feel so boxy. All in all, this is a superior pieces with outstanding craftsmanship, through and through! Poplar secondary.
