Figured Mahogany Tilt Top

Figured Mahogany Tilt Top

A nicely figured mahogany tilt top table. Made during the mid 1700’s, this table has a nicely carved urn on the pedestal. The bulbous feet are a good example from this period in time. However, it is the top that makes this piece. Look at all of the stripping in it! It is strong and clearly defined. All in all, a beautiful piece. It is approximately 34” in diameter. (It varies from with the grain and against like it is supposed to. This variance is caused by the wood shrinking over 250 years of age.) It stands 27 ½” tall with the top down. English Oak secondary. Queen Anne. English. Circa 1760.
