A brilliant, hexagonal shaped, Imari bowl. The colors and art are very bold with heavy gold decorations. The interior features the three trees pine, bamboo, and plum surrounding a beautiful striking, blue interior. The exterior of the bowl is just as boldly decorated as the interior. It too has 6 panels matching the interior. However, the art is different. The mark on the bottom means Fuki Chosun, or good luck. It loosely translates to “riches, honors, and everlasting youth”. It is 9 ¼“ in diameter and 3 ¼” tall. The condition is superb. Japanese. Circa 1885.
