Here we have a classic three stack, barrister bookcase in the Arts and Crafts style with wonderful string inlay on the front and sides. It is the inlay work really sets it apart from its piers. It pops nicely off the front but explodes off the sides. Perhaps it’s because Globe Wernicke typically left the sides of a piece alone….almost like an afterthought. In this case, Globe echoed the front work onto the sides and made something quite special. It is 35 1/2″ wide, 46 3/8″ tall, and 11 1/4″ deep. Lastly, it has been fully restored by us and in working order. American. Circa 1910.
