A lovely, 2 over 4 chest of drawers. Made out of solid walnut, this chest features nice string inlaid drawer fronts and barber pole inlay above the shaped apron at the base. The feet are splayed, French bracket feet and are original. Combined these elements really make the chest. The piece has been restored previously and it is in “as found” condition. However, that condition is very good. It stands 44 ¾” tall, 27 ½” wide, and is 21 ¼” deep. The top and sides are all one board. Applied molded edge to the top. More than likely, it was made in western North Carolina but eastern Tennessee cannot be ruled out. Yellow Pine secondary. Circa 1810
Price: $2950
