A beautiful pair of blue and white, Chinese export garden stools. This pair features a dragon, representing masculinity, on one side and a phoenix, representing femininity, on the other.The tops and sides are pierced. They are in outstanding condition with only one of the small knobs being damaged. (See picture below, it is on the lower row of the right stool.) Originally made for outside use, these stools can be used inside or on a covered porch. Standing 18” tall and with a diameter of 13”, they are commonly used as small tables today. Chinese. Circa 1885.
