Pair of Empire Mixing Tables

An beautiful rare pair of marble top Empire mixing tables. Mixing tables, sometimes called Mint Julep tables, are extremely rare. This is the only pair we have ever seen.Standing back, the exterior is covered in flame mahogany. This striking wood is beautiful. The shape of the case is accentuated by the mahogany. Even the feet are handsome and original. The marble tops show a bit of wear and use but they are original. The tables are 32” tall and 17 ½” wide. The left table top is 30” wide and the right is 29 ¾”. Originally, these tables were designed a living room, den, or office for mixing drinks on the marble. If anything was spilled, it wouldn’t hurt the marble. One would store the alcohol in the cabinet and there is ample space on the top shelf for tall bottles. Today, they can be used in those same settings but would make fantastic bed side tables or foyer tables. Poplar Secondary. Empire. Circa 1840.

Price: $4995 for the pair
