Pair of Porcelain Wall Sconces

Pair of Porcelain Wall Sconces

Each piece is signed by the painter, “E. Duorocy “

A beautiful pair of matched, porcelain wall sconces. Each of the 2 arms for holding candles are made out of brass and are gold washed. The swags on the tops really accent the candelabras. The landscape scene includes a fisherman and a man cooking with other men and women. Each piece is signed on the front by the painter, “E. Duorocy“. They are delightful! Both pieces are marked. One reads “Lille Lille” and the other one “Lille 1767”. Each sconce measures 16 ¼” tall and 12 ¾” wide.  Furthermore, each one has had some type of substance put over a crack in the back. The cracks are not visible from the front unless one looks with a magnifying glass. The fittings on the back are brass too. Lille is a town near Paris and was famous for the porcelain and earthenware made pieces.  Signed, sconces are unheard of. These pieces are magnificent! French, 19th century.
