This lovely tall case clock is in outstanding condition. When seen the first time, the size of the clock really jumps out. It is only 7′ 5″ tall! The face and bonnet are full sized yet the cabinetmaker was able to tailor the proportions and design to make the clock feel downright “charming”. Overall, the face is beautiful and striking. The gold leaf really pops off the face. The broken arch is original and in excellent condition. It features some inset carvings. The case features fluted quarter columns with inlaid door and base. Everything is original on the clock including the finials and feet. Overall, it is 20 3/4″ wide, 9 3/4″ deep, and 7’5″ tall. The dial is signed “Cockburn, Haddington”. It was probably made by Adam Cockburn of Haddington, Scotland. Lastly, the finish has a wonderful luster to it. The bonnet does have slightly darker tones than most of the case but it all works together and is quite beautiful. Scottish, Circa 1805.
