Philadelphia Card Table

A beautifully inlaid card table that was most likely made in Philadelphia. This is one of the prettiest we have ever had the honor of owning. First, it is demilune in shape. This shape is repeated on the top in for the form of fan inlay. Each edge of the top and lower top are inlaid. The there are the roses and bell flowers on the legs. Look at the detail! There are “bookends” inlaid at the top of each leg too. Could it be any better? Lastly, there is the drawer. Oh the drawer!  Finding a drawer, with original pull, in a card table is about as common as a child who likes brussel sprouts. It is only 36″ wide, 17 1/8″ deep, and 29 1/2″ tall with the top closed. All in all, this is a fantastic table and can go in a variety of spots in a home. American. Circa 1790.
