Rosewood Banded Pembroke Table

Rosewood Banded Pembroke Table

WOW! Wow, just seem to be enough. A striking pembrooke table made with satinwood and rosewood banding. The top is bowed and has a drawer in the front and a faux drawer in the back.

Made with satinwood as the primary, this table stands on its own anywhere. However, it is the rosewood banding with shaped top that push it to “the next level”. Due to wood shrinkage of the top, one leaf does stand out a bit. This gives the table a bit wider dimension when both leaves are down that the top. However, the serpentine shaped leaves with canted corners are simply, “wow”. The inset medallion on the top is bold and well executed. The light, honey colored legs have ebony edges. This “eye candy” is yet another way the cabinet maker made his piece standout. The brass casters are original while the drawer pulls are accurate replacements. Standing 27 ½” tall, it is 35 5/8” deep and 21” wide across the top. English. Circa 1800.
