Server or Hall Table

This is a beautiful and striking table. The flame mahogany on the front of the piece is absolutely stunning and catches the eye the moment it is seen. We tried to take a good picture of it but it is camera shy. It is MUCH prettier in person.

Overall, the table was restored some years ago and is in outstanding condition. The base is most unusual. The arched legs compliment the turned stretcher. Look closely at the stretcher. The turning is extremely fine and shows an incredibly high level of skill. While the pulls are not original, they have some good age and look great on it. The size is very desirable at 26 ½” wide, 19 5/8” deep, and 35 ½” tall. This allows the table to be used in a number of ways, i.e. server, foyer piece, bedroom, console table, etc. One of the reasons we bought the piece was due to its flexibility in use. Originally, it would have had a 2 arms with a mirror attached to it. There are pictures of the repairs included and one can see that the repair was superbly done. It is even less noticeable in person. American, possibly New York but we cannot be sure of that. Circa 1820.
