Set of 12, London, Chippendale Chairs

Here we have a rare matched set of 12 Chippendale style chairs and they are fantastic.

The chairs feature a beautifully carved back, crest rail, and legs. Look at the quality of the carvings and the cabrio bend in the leg. Additionally, the set includes 2 arm chairs and 10 sides. One chair retains its original maker’s tag. It says “JAS Shoolbred & Co Tottenham Court Road, London, W.”. This renowned company produced fine furniture and drapery for most of the 19th century  and closed in 1931. It was officially recognized by the crown. Made out of solid mahogany, the chairs are strong and ready to go.  They stand 37 1/2″ tall with the side chairs being 22 1/2″ wide and the arm chairs being 24″ wide at the knees. The finish is in great condition. Circa 1900.
