A stunningly carved set of 8, mahogany, dining room chairs. Made in the style of Thomas Chippendale, these chairs have it all. First, the backs are finely carved with acanthus leaves and bell flowers.
Next come the arms and the fully carved lion’s heads where ones hands would rest. Looking further, one finds a fully upholstered seat which is very comfortable. Finally, the eyes fall to the carved knees and fully developed ball and claw feet with hair. Consisting of 6 sides and 2 arm chairs, chairs like these just don’t appear in the market any more. Most likely English, Circa 1910.
