Sheraton Bow Front Chest

Sheraton Bow Front Chest

A Sheraton bow front chest made out of mahogany. This pretty piece appears retains its original finish which has a nice warm luster that comes from decades of love and care.Originally, this chest was intended to be used in the dining room but bow fronts often find themselves in foyers and bed rooms today. It stands 41 ¼” tall and is 20 ½” deep. The backsplash adds another 6” in height and retains its original brass decorations. The top is 31 ¼” wide but the legs extended the width to 43”. The double swag in the apron points to New England origins. However, the turned legs point towards a more rural origin. As a result, it could have been made anywhere from Maine to New Hampshire. White Pine secondary. Circa 1810.
