A sweet, walnut blanket chest. This is a lovely piece. It has exposed dovetails on the case and the feet. The interior features a till and its original strap hinges.Of particularly note is the pegged trim around the top. (Germanic influence) However, the feet show central Virginia influence too. Regardless, it is a Virginia piece. It is 46 3/4″ wide, 19 5/8″ deep, and only 23 1/4″ tall. Refinished. Virginia. Circa 1785.
