“Battle of the Monitor and Merrimack” by Kurz and Allison, Circa 1889
A great engraving of “Battle of the Monitor and Merrimack” by Kurz and Allison. This world famous battle represented major innovations in civil and military technologies.
It occurred right off the coast of Virginia. The overall engraving is in fantastic condition and the color is one of the best I have seen. Originally, it was printed in color and it looks almost as good as it did the day it was made. The outside of the frame is 33 1/2″ wide by 26 1/2″ tall. The visible image is 25 3/4″ wide by 18 7/8″ tall. It is an outstanding piece. Circa 1889
