A nice early 19th century brass footman. Footman were not stools. They were designed to sit close to a fireplace and keep something warm or dry out something, like boots. This one is particularly nice with pierced top and front. It stands 12 3/8” tall. The top is 14 7/8” wide and 10 3.4” deep. The cabrio legs to stick out a bit past the top edge. Overall, this is a nice piece. English.
