A beautiful pair of portraits featuring George and Martha Washington on glass. Both are beautifully done and in excellent shape considering their age and that they are on glass. People don’t understand the difficulty in painting on glass. It is complex and extremely difficult because one has to paint backwards. (more…)

Map of the Colonial Mid Atlantic States

This handsome map of the mid-Atlantic colonies is balanced with an exquisite pictorial cartouche filling the lower right. The map itself is lovely and retains its original colors.  The dominate feature of this map is the huge title cartouche with depicts European merchants, Indians, trade goods, and the fruits of land and sea — imagery intended to attract people to the New World. Set of 6 Windsor Chairs

This is a wonderful set of 6 Windsor chairs with square, bent backs. The backs bend at toward the top and give the chairs a great look. Additionally, it makes them more comfortable. As one can see, they do have wear but each one is sound. (more…)

Cherry and Birch Bow Front Chest

An elegant, Hepplewhite bow front chest. Made with a solid cherry top and sides, it is the front that sets the stage. Each drawer front features flame birch with a paneled center out of the same birch. This characteristic points to New Hampshire, or possibly Massachusetts origin. (more…)
