This is a lovely San Domingo mahogany, slant front desk. The first thing one notices is the serpentine front. It is beautiful! Following the front, the ogee bracket feet and carved shell relief on the base stand out nicely. Once the fall board is lowered, one can see the interior with a matching shell carved into the center top drawer. (more…)

This wonderful map of Virginia was derived from Captain John Smith’s map of 1612. While amazingly accurate, this map shows Jamestown (Lameftowne). In the upper left corner is Chief Powhatan with his wives and children.  On the right is a Susquehanna chief in a European pose. Look closely at all of the items on his person. Each was chosen for a specific and symbolic reason. (more…)

A beautiful, Federal gaming table made out of mahogany. This elegant table is a Federal style table with just a bit of French flair. To start off with, it has the classic hairy paw feet.
