A beautiful weathervane in the shape of a horse. Made out of copper, one can still make out the trace of gold wash that would have been on it originally.Look closely at the details, the eyes still show some black. Even the ears are in great shape! Of course, there is some age appropriate wear, and a few “bb” gun dents. This form is based on one made by Harris and Company in Massachusetts. Called “The Smuggler”, this classic design is liked by many. It is 33″ long and 17 1/8″ tall. The base makes the overall height 18″ and width 7 1/4″. This piece is a beautiful sculptural work of art. Circa 1900-1910.
