Mahogany Pembrooke Table
A nice Chippendale pembrooke, or Pembroke, table. This table is unusual for several reasons. First, it is Chippendale. Most tables like this have tapered legs. This one has great straight legs with beaded edge and nice chamfering on the backside. Second, the size is wonderful. It is 27 ¼” tall, 27 1/8” deep, and 21” wide when the leaves are closed. Each leaf adds 9 ¼” in width when opened. Lastly, there is a nice shaped block of wood between the bottom edge of the table and leg. This little detail is just delightful! English Oak secondary. English. Circa 1775.
